i bought these through Amazon from Shoe Mania-Main. Do not purchase from this store. When I first received the shoes I thought to myself, hmm they've (MBT) really let their quality slip compared to the last pair I purchased 3 years ago and still have. The leather is thinner and stiff with no collaring around the ankle so it cuts into my ankle when descending stairs. I thought, well that's okay since i don't spend my day climbing stairs. Then I noticed one corner of the front upper leather has stitching that is already loosened. Also, the leather upper where it meets the side where the laces go buckles when I tie the shoe. The inside sole has an MBT lining in it (at least it says MBT) and there is an MBT stamp on the bottom. The tag on the inside looked different though and i couldn't figure out why. Then today i walked into a store that sells medical scrubs and uniforms with my wife. On the back wall I see MBT's! I was stoked because they had a 50% off sign. When we asked why the manager told me that MBT has had huge problems in the US because of Chinese factories popping up all over China making fake goods. When i looked at their Kabisa shoes the differences were glaring. The inside had a comfortable looking familiar grey lining with the label under the tongue that had all the MBT information inside. The laces were not nearly as long as the ones in my pair and were made of a higher quality material. The leather was 100 times more supple than what i was sent.
Shoe mania is ripping you off if you are looking for quality shoes. I have been bearing with mine for the past month because I was desperate for black dress shoes that i could actually wear (flat dress shoes kill my feet). BEWARE - i would recommend Zappo's because i have bought MBT tennis shoes form them before and gotten the real deal. Don't make the same mistake i did trying to save 30-40 bucks. it's just not worth it. I'll be contacting shoe mania, but I seriously doubt i'll get anything out of them.
BTW, does anyone know who to report a company like this to? I really hate that i fell for this and didn't catch it so long and to top it off, i hear that MBT is struggling in the US market because of fakes.

MBT shoes make such a difference to your posture, comfort and health. I still wear nice dress shoes to meeting but I really live in MBT.. from dress shoes, running shoes and sandals. They my not be the prettiest shoes on the block but you can wear them for 12 hours straight with total comfort.. Just outstanding value.

I returned these as too big. I wear a 9C and the size 43 was both too long and too wide. I've successfully worn other European size 43 shoes, but not these. I also found the MBT sole a bit "tricky" to walk on. I found myself "falling off of them" and wishing that the last were "flatter" or perhaps more stable. After a 5 minutes this improved, but I suspect that I would have to be careful to avoid twisting an ankle with these ... I've worn another brand with an "alternate" design and seen their quality drop over the last few years. While the MBT is well-built, I'm not sure it's a good replacement for my old reliable.
