These boots are made of very high-quality leather and are even nicer looking than in the photo. They are very comfortable. I walked quite a ways, running errands, the first day I had them, and they needed no breaking in. Also, they look trim. I find the shaft on most boots too wide these days. This is a nice narrow shaft, so it looks good on my slender-to-average legs.

These just arrived this morning. I got the black with the Cordovan tops. I put them on two hours ago and have been walking around the house in them. Perfect fit! I am a size 8.5M, normally, sometimes an 8M. I ordered these in the 8.5 and the fit is perfect. I have slender calves (just under 13") and I was worried that these might gap, but they do not. In fact, as I was zipping them up, I thought for a second that they might be too snug, but they are just perfect. They are very trim-looking (I have skinny jeans tucked into them now, but I can tell they will look great with skirts). I am thinking that if one has athletic calves, these might be too narrow, though there is a stretchy gusset at the top. The footbed has the comfortable, cushioned Ariat technology and so far, I don't feel the need to insert my orthotics, but there is room in there if I do need to. They feel as if I will be able to walk all over the city in them for hours, but only a true test will tell. The heel height is just right, also, not too high and not too flat. The leather is gorgeous, definitely high-quality. Here is my only caveat: I am a leg-crosser. I can tell that I have to be conscious of how I cross my legs in these, because it seems as if the buckle (which is a beautiful detail) could scratch the leather on the other boot. I don't care. I love these so much that I will take that risk. My man, who rarely notices or comments on my shoes, loves these and keeps saying how beautiful they are. I say, probably best to order your regular size. My other Ariat shoes are also 8.5. I never vary in size with this brand. If you are looking for a really handsome, trim-looking riding boot, these are for you.

I ordered these boots from Nordstrom last week, but when I saw that they were cheaper on Amazon, I ordered them from here. When I received the boots and compared them to the Nordstrom ones, the quality was much less. The color wasn't right, there are unfinished threads all over, the leather was very very worn with creases and markings, they didn't come with any proper paperwork from Ariat, and I also noticed that the tag on the inside of the boots had a seam through the middle of it. I am very sad to see that a company would even sell these boots in the condition that they were in. I will be returning these ones and keeping the more expensive (and nicer!) ones from Nordstrom.
